(Mr. Goldsholle now handles his consulting actiivities through Advocate.)

Gerry’s decades of insider’s knowledge of the insurance industry gained as a senior executive at the nation’s largest insurance company – serving in positions including President & CEO of MetLife Marketing Corporation and a founding officer of MetLife®’s property casualty and reinsurance businesses – and a consultant to many other leading companies, helps Advocate Law Group’s clients get outstanding results.

As an attorney he is nationally respected and has been repeatedly ranked at the top tier of all lawyers by his peers. Gerry was of Chair the Insurance Committee of an American Bar Association section, Chair of the Administrative Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association, and Chair of the California State Bar’s Group Insurance Programs Committee. He uses his deep knowledge of the law to benefit Advocate Law Group’s clients directly, and also works on behalf of clients with other law firms that form Advocate Law Group’s international network of leading consumer oriented law firms.

After graduating from Columbia Law School and completing his active duty as an officer with the Army Security Agency, Gerry began his legal career as a prosecutor with the Securities and Exchange Commission and headed the special enforcement unit at the Commission's New York office. After several years in private law practice with top rated New York City law firms, he joined the law department of MetLife, rising to Assistant General Counsel in charge of the corporate law function.

As MetLife’s Vice-President for Corporate Planning & Development Gerry invented the concept of the Beneficiary Access or Retained Asset Account which helps beneficiaries get paid faster and earn more interest through use of an insurance company guaranteed account accessed through a checkbook instead of a single lump sum check. As VP for Investment & Fiduciary Services he turned his concept into MetLife’s Total Control Account® -- a multi-billion dollar business which later became the life industry’s standard method of making benefit payments. Promoted to MetLife’s Chief Brokerage Executive, Gerry turned around a faltering operation and grew it into a semi-autonomous business, with its own national headquarters, creating innovative products, and profitably generating nearly 15% of MetLife’s total new individual life and annuity premium, before he opted for early retirement at age 50.

Gerry has served as a consultant to many leading banks, insurance and financial services companies. Gerry has also served as an expert and consultant on various insurance-related matter in litigation for private litigants as well as the U.S. Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He has chaired numerous programs and been an invited speaker before numerous lawyer, insurance, actuarial and other professional groups in the United States, Canada and England, including the Society of Actuaries and the American Bar Association, on topics such as government ethics, insurance laws and regulation, insurance product design, insurance marketing, viatical and life settlements, lawyers’ proper use of the Internet, estate planning, legal ethics and professional responsibility. His extensive service to the legal profession and public includes years as a Vice-Chair of the New York City Bar Association's Professional Responsibility Committee, service as a member of the Council and Executive Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice, and testifying on behalf of the New York City Bar Association before committees of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. He currently serves as Chair of the Life Insurance subcommittee of his California State Bar Committee.

Gerry was licensed as an attorney in New York in 1964 and in California in 1991. He is also a member of the bars of the Supreme Court of the United States and numerous federal courts. He graduated with honors from the College of William and Mary, earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and completed the Executive Program at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and later completed the coursework (but not the thesis) for a masters degree at Stanford. He also is Founder and CEO of Advice Company and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Marin Theatre Company
